M:tel wins Mobile Network Benchmarking
NET CHECK has once again tested the mobile networks in Bosnia-Herzegovina – with a clear result: as last year, m:tel secured the top spot with the best overall score of 804.13 points. HT Eronet followed with 737.72 points, while BH Telecom took third place with 676.84 points.
Complex measurements for a realistic picture
NET CHECK’s measurement technicians travelled to numerous cities to assess the network quality comprehensively and representatively. They carried out the drive tests in 6 large, 11 medium-sized and 21 small cities, supplemented by measurements on the connecting roads. In total, they travelled over 140 hours – 98 hours in the cities and 42.5 hours on the roads between the regions.
Extensive data was collected during the process: To assess the voice services, 2,700 test calls were made for each of the three providers and 12 voice samples were collected from each call, resulting in a total of around 100,000 voice samples. For the assessment of the data services, almost 100,000 data measurements were included in the analysis .
m:tel impresses with strong improvements
‘M:tel was not only able to achieve the top competitive position in Bosnia-Herzegovina for the second year in a row, but was also able to close the gap to other European network operators,’ says Bruno Palomares, Vice President Sales at NET CHECK. ‘The use of modern technologies such as VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and the investments made have brought noticeable improvements for end customers, particularly in terms of voice quality, call setup time and call success rate. Data performance has also improved significantly compared to the previous year.’
High standards for a fair assessment
The assessment is based on the established NET CHECK benchmarking methodology, which aims to provide an accurate, unbiased and balanced assessment of network performances. It is based on the specifications of ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and has been successfully applied in various countries and with various network operators.
