NET CHECK GmbH is one of the leading partners of network operators and infrastructure providers in Germany and beyond when it comes to setting up, analyzing and optimizing communications networks. With the strategic acquisition of Focus Infocom, the company can now decisively expand its expertise and offerings in the area of mobile communications measurements. This is because the Darmstadt-based company not only brings valuable know-how and almost 30 years of mobile communications experience to the partnership, but as a specialist in individual measurement technology it is also the only manufacturer in Germany to offer mobile communications test equipment tested and certified for use in all rail vehicles.
“We are delighted about the addition to the company group,” says Detlef Zernick, founder and CEO of NET CHECK and the NC GROUP, to which NET CHECK belongs. “Bringing the two companies together opens up exciting opportunities to further optimize the quality of mobile measurements and help our customers shape the mobile networks of the future.”
NET CHECK’s core competencies include international network benchmarking and drive tests as well as walk tests, network planning and fault analysis. In addition, the mobile communications specialist has Germany’s largest crowdsourcing platform, which generates over 144 million data points daily. “By integrating Focus Infocom, we can now expand our offering to include measurements in local and long-distance public transport and railway,” adds Zernick.
Innovative manufacturer meets power user
“In NET CHECK, we have found a strong partner with whom we can offer complete service from a single source,” says Gerhard Balzer, who as one of the founders of Focus Infocom now leads the further development of measurement technology as Head of Hardware Development. “Through the fusion, we combine the know-how of an innovative measurement system manufacturer with NET CHECK’s expertise as a ‘power user’ of such measurement systems,” says co-founder Wolfgang Balzer, who is now Director of Innovation, Testing Specification and Mobile Standards at NET CHECK, explaining the advantages of the merger.
“In this way, user experience can flow directly into the development and design of the measurement systems via direct channels – the result is systems with outstanding practicality and efficiency” adds Wolfgang Balzer. “Our goal is to make NET CHECK the preferred contact point when it comes to testing and measuring mobile connectivity thanks to our innovative strength and expertise – for all application areas and all companies in whose business field mobile performance plays a central role.”
NET CHECK and Focus Infocom are both part of NC GROUP, which offers a comprehensive portfolio for planning, monitoring and optimizing communications networks of all technologies. With its subsidiaries NET CHECK, NC Plan, NC SYSTEMS, NC SERVICES and Focus Infocom, the group of companies covers a wide range of network technologies, from public mobile and fixed networks to TETRA digital radio BOS and 5G campus networks. The NC Group is headquartered in Berlin and employs around 180 people including all subsidiaries.
